Ace guitarist John Jorgenson has played with everybody from Earl Scruggs to Elton John to the Desert Rose Band, but the fiery guitar virtuoso is at his most impressive leading his own gypsy jazz outfit, the John Jorgenson Quintet. Inspired by the great music made in Europe in the 1930s and 1940s by Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, Jorgensen is in the vanguard of the U.S. gypsy jazz movement, playing classic and original material in this dazzling, improvisational band that shines a fresh light on an infectious and fascinating corner of jazz that has captivated guitarists for almost 75 years.
